WIPO opened its Beijing office during WIPO Director Francis Gurry’s official visit between July 9 to 11, 2014.
The opening of a China Office is seen as a sign of close cooperation between WIPO and China. Among other things, the office will promote use of WIPO’s services as the administration body for the Patent Cooperation Treaty, the Madrid System for the International Registration of Marks, the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs.
